What happens during treatment?
In reflexology according by Eunice Ingham, specific grips are applied to the reflex zones using the hands and thumbs or a small stick. This targeted manipulations are intended to release blockages at the nerve endings. This technique is based on the concept that the feet reflect the entire body. The individual reflex points are associated with specific organs and joints. This allows for therapeutic influence on the corresponding organ or joint by treating the corresponding reflex point, thereby alleviating ailments. Reflexology is considered a manipulative therapy, the goal of which is to generally improve bodily reactions and activate the body's self-healing powers.
Target of Reflexology
The aim of reflexology is to restore the connection between individual organs or body parts and their corresponding nerve endings in the feet and hands, connections that are sometimes blocked by deposits. Any blockages are removed. This is achieved through pressure. Therefore, the original reflexology massage is also called acupressure (targeted pressure). It is suitable for identifying existing imbalances in the body, improving symptoms, and relieving pain.
